Every month , units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 2.5 billion hryvnia to purchase drones. This was announced by Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, according to the Defense Ministry’s press service.
According to the minister, these funds will be allocated directly to unit commanders, who will be able to use them to purchase the drones that best meet the needs of combat operations on the front lines.
“This made it possible to quickly meet the needs of our teams and further diversify centralized management,” the minister noted .
Umerov also noted that in December, the Ministry of Defense had already transferred 2.1 billion hryvnia directly to combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the purchase of drones.
This initiative aims to strengthen the combat capability of the Ukrainian army, particularly by equipping it with modern technology to carry out its missions in the face of Russian aggression. Drones play a critical role in reconnaissance, fire control, and gaining the upper hand over the enemy.
