The Ministry of Youth and Sports expects that the updated leadership of the Esports Federation, the management of the NAVI team, will solve the problem with players traveling abroad.
This was stated in an interview for UA. Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vitaliy Lavrov told News.
According to the official, the previous composition of the Esports Federation was actively working. However, during 2022-2024, there were problems with the fact that athletes did not return after leaving.
“There were the most such cases of all non-Olympic sports. It got to the point that last year [2024, – ed.] there were no trips of boys of military age to the Federation at all after the last World Cup. But I hope that the new squad will reboot it and solve the problem,” Lavrov said.
At the same time, the Ministry of Youth and Sports does not issue permits to travel abroad.
“We are requesting the Border Guard Service to assist in crossing the border to ensure participation in the international tournament. And after that, they must return within the specified period. That is, it is not about the permit system, but more about assistance,” the deputy emphasized.
As a reminder, Ukrainian investor and owner of the NAVI esports team, Maksym Krippa , headed the Esports Federation of Ukraine this year. Rippa also owns the NAVI team, GSC Game World and Maincast studios. In addition, the businessman owns several real estate objects in Kyiv and the region.
