Vereshchuk addressed Poroshenko regarding remarks made by his fellow faction member

Sofia Fedina, a member of parliament from the “European Solidarity” party, compared President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to a dog that “needs to know its place.” Iryna Vereshchuk, deputy head of the Office of the President, called this “public rudeness.

Fedyna’s remarks were broadcast on the “Pryamyy” TV channel on YouTube.

They discussed Zelenskyy’s interviews, claiming that he mostly gives them to foreign journalists rather than Ukrainian ones.

Fedina said that the president is supposedly afraid of Ukrainian journalists and that is why he refuses to give interviews. She also mentioned one of her dogs, which has psychological problems because it came from a combat zone.

“The psychologist explains very clearly that certain situations cause a dog to assert dominance, at which point it starts to push its boundaries. And if the owner doesn’t make it clear where the dog stands, […] then it goes completely out of control,” said Fedina.

She apologized for the comparison, but immediately added that since the president had been “hired” by the citizens, he should “be very aware of his place” and communicate with Ukrainian journalists.

Iryna Vereshchuk, Deputy Head of the Office of the President, responded to Fedyna’s remarks by addressing Petro Poroshenko, the leader of “European Solidarity.” According to her, lawmakers from his faction are “engaging in public, undignified rudeness” toward the president.

“I believe it is your responsibility to ensure that these individuals do not overstep their bounds. Because, as you say, everyone should know their place,” she said.
