Svitlana Hrynchuk – Minister of Energy of Ukraine (July 2025 – current time), Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine (2023-2024), Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine (2024 – 2025).
Place of Birth, Education
She was born on November 11, 1985 in the Chernivtsi region.
She received higher education at the Chernivtsi Institute of Trade and Economics, operating at the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics.
In 2013, she received a PhD in Economics.
Career
In 2016, she headed the Department of Climate Change and Ozone Protection at the Ministry of Environment.
Political Activities
In 2019, she served as an adviser to the Prime Minister of Ukraine, dealing with environmental issues and climate change. In 2020, she was an advisor at the Ministry of Finance, working on a voluntary basis.
On July 29, 2022, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine appointed her Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources for European Integration. She was responsible for the ratification and implementation of the Paris Climate Agreement, as well as for Ukraine’s fulfillment of international obligations under the Kyoto and Montreal Protocols.
Since 2023, she has headed the Reform Support Office under the Ministry of Energy. In the period from September 5, 2023 to September 5, 2024, she served as Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine.
On September 5, 2024, the Verkhovna Rada appointed her Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources.
On July 17, 2025, Hrynchuk headed the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
