Ruslan Oleksandrovych Strilets – Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine (2022-2024).
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on June 30, 1984 in Dnipro.
He graduated from Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University with a degree in International Economics.
He was also educated in:
- Dnipropetrovsk State University of Internal Affairs in the direction of “Jurisprudence”;
- Prydniprovsk State Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture with a degree in Ecology and Environmental Protection;
- at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Institute of Public Administration of the National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, where he studied “Public Administration and Administration”.
Career
In 2007-2012, Strelets held the positions of chief specialist and deputy head of department in structural units of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, and in the period from 2012 to 2014 he worked as deputy head of the State Department of Environmental Protection in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
From 2014 to 2015, he served as Director of the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration (RSA). After that, he headed the body until 2019.
During 2015-2019, he headed the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
In 2019-2020, Strilets served as Deputy Director of the Department for Waste Management, Environmental Safety and Transition to a Circular Economy at the Ministry of Energy and Environmental Protection of Ukraine.
From July 2, 2020 to 2022, he worked as Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine, responsible for digital development, digital transformations and digitalization.
In the period from November 3, 2021 to April 14, 2022, he served as Minister of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. After that, he headed the department.
On September 4, 2024, the parliament supported the dismissal of Sagilets from the post of minister.

Married. He has two children.
