Oleksandr Serhiiovych Kornienko – First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine (2021 – present), People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on May 12, 1984 in Kyiv.
In 2001 – 2007 he received higher education at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, where he received a master’s degree in chemical technology and engineering.
In 2008-2010, he studied at the Wiesbaden Academy of Psychotherapy in Germany, as well as at the Ukrainian Institute of Positive Psychotherapy. He received the qualification of a basic consultant in positive psychotherapy.
From 2015 to 2019, he was trained as part of the non-formal education project “Existential Coaching”.
Career
In 2001-2003, he worked as a journalist for the publication “Moloko” and the website music.com.ua, and from 2003 to 2004 he held the positions of journalist and editor in the All-Ukrainian youth newspaper “Young Guard”.
In 2004 – 2006 he founded and published an independent student newspaper “Student”.
During 2005 – 2008 and 2011 – 2013 he was the concert director and manager of the Ukrainian rock band “Kryhitka”, which was previously called “Kryhitka Tsakhes”.
In 2006-2008, he worked as an executive producer of the creative association “The Last Barricade”.
In 2005-2010, he was a co-founder of the youth organization “SIM – Union of Initiative Youth”, which was engaged in non-formal education and creating opportunities for creative leisure of young people.
Since 2015, he has headed the Supervisory Board of the NGO “Exchange of Youth Projects”.
In 2016-2018, he joined the GoCamp by GoGlobal initiative.
In 2008-2010, he worked as a social trainer.
Political Activities
Since 2006, he has been engaged in political consulting in election campaigns, cooperating with various political forces and candidates.
In 2015, he worked in the election headquarters of the candidate for the post of mayor of Mykolaiv from the Samopomich party, Oleksandr Senkevych.
Since November 2018, he joined Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s team, coordinated the ZeKomanda volunteer project, organized the process of filling election commissions, and managed the Election Day project.
Since May 2019, he headed the election headquarters of the Servant of the People party in the early parliamentary elections. According to the results of the vote, he became a people’s deputy of Ukraine. He also received the post of first deputy chairman of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction.
On November 10, 2019, the Servant of the People party elected him as the new chairman, replacing Dmytro Razumkov in this position.
On October 19, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada appointed Kornienko as the first deputy speaker of the parliament.
On November 8, 2021, he announced his decision to resign as chairman of the Servant of the People party, explaining this by his desire to focus on his work in the Verkhovna Rada.

Married. The couple has a daughter.
