Oleg Ivanovich Ivashchenko – Head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (2026 – present), Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (2024 – 2025).

He was born on September 9, 1969.
He was educated in:
- combined arms command school;
- National Defense Academy of Ukraine;
- University of Economics and Law;
- Kyiv-Mohyla Business School.
Career
He served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), holding positions both in Ukraine and abroad.
In the period from 2015 to 2019, Ivashchenko worked as First Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) of the Ministry of Defense, as well as Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Intelligence.
From 2019 to 2024, he served as First Deputy Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense and at the same time was Assistant to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for Intelligence.
On March 26, by decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ivashchenko was appointed head of the Foreign Intelligence Service (SZR).
On March 29, he became a member of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the same period, he was also included in the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC).
On January 2, 2026, by presidential decree, Ivashchenko was appointed head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
Among Ivashchenko’s state awards:
- Order of Danylo Halytskyi;
- Order of Bohdan Khmelnytskyi III degree, which he was awarded on March 31, 2022.
