Robert Iosifovich Brovdi is the founder of the “Birds of Magyar” unit, commander of the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on August 9, 1975 in the city of Uzhhorod.
In 1997, he graduated from Uzhhorod National University, where he studied in Enterprise Economics.
Career
Since 1998, he has been engaged in entrepreneurial activities: first he worked in the field of retail, then moved to real estate. He also worked in the construction business, where he was one of the leading developers in Uzhhorod.
Among Brovdi’s business projects are the Market-BK company, which was engaged in real estate transactions, Imperia Food, which specialized in food trade, as well as Scotch and Soda Ukraine, which worked in the field of clothing sales.
He held the position of General Director of the Agrarian Exchange of Ukraine under the Ministry of Agrarian Policy. In the period from autumn 2010 to May 2012, he was the General Director of Khlib Investbud, and from May 2012 to January 31, 2013, he held the position of Commercial Director.
Since 2013, Brovdi has served as deputy chairman of the board of the State Food and Grain Corporation of Ukraine. On July 1, 2014, he was released.
The Granum Group of Companies, among the founders of which was Brovdi, was one of the five leading exporters of grain crops from Ukraine to more than 20 countries.
Since 2017, Brovdi has been engaged in the development of development projects, which were stopped with the beginning of the full-scale invasion. After that, according to him, he handed over the affairs to his partners and went to the front.
Political Activities
He was a deputy of the Transcarpathian Regional Council of the 6th convocation. In 2015, he resigned ahead of schedule and of his own free will.
Military service
On February 7, 2022, Brovdi joined the Obolon Territorial Defense (Territorial Defense). He served as a platoon commander of the second assault company of the 206th separate battalion of the Territorial Defense, which was subordinate to the 28th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
From February 24, 2022, he served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the 206th separate battalion of the Territorial Defense. Together with the unit, he participated in the evacuation from the settlements of Irpin, Bucha and Borodyanka.
In May – June 2022, he founded a separate aerial reconnaissance unit – “Birds of Magyar”.
Since December 2022, he has been officially registered as a volunteer. He is engaged in information activities, the purpose of which is to cover the work of the “Birds of Magyar” unit, as well as to raise funds for re-equipping units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, territorial defense, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine (SBGS), the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and the Special Operations Forces (SOF).
He took part in the defense of Soledar, as well as in the battles in the areas of Pervomaiske, Avdiivka, Staromykhailivka and Maryinka in the Donetsk direction.
In June 2025, he was appointed commander of the Forces of Unmanned Systems of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
