Mykola Hryhorovych Malomuzh – military, head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010), General of the Army of Ukraine.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on September 23, 1955 in the village of Skalyvatka in the Zvenyhorod district of the Cherkasy region.
In 1982, he completed his studies at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University, receiving a diploma with honors in the specialty “Jurisprudence”.
Career
Since December 1983, he has worked in the state security agencies of Ukraine, holding both operational and managerial positions. At the end of 1998, he was appointed Deputy Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine for Religious Affairs.
In April 2005, in accordance with the decree of the then President Viktor Yushchenko, he headed the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (SZR). In the summer of 2010, President Viktor Yanukovych dismissed him from this post and appointed him his freelance adviser.
On February 24, 2014, he was dismissed from the post of adviser in accordance with the decree of Acting President Oleksandr Turchynov. In the same year, he ran for the post of head of state, taking 15th place according to the results of the elections, gaining 0.13% of the vote.
He is the founder of the All-Ukrainian socio-political movement “For the Future of Ukraine”, and in the fall of 2015 he headed the “Ukrainian Party of Honor, Fight Against Corruption and Organized Crime”.
Marital Status
He is married to People’s Artist Tatyana Malomuzh.
The couple has a son, Yaroslav, and a daughter, Oleksandra.
