Ihor Anatolyevich Skybiuk – Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (June 2025 – present), Commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (2024-2025).
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on October 10, 1976 in the city of Konotop, Sumy region.
He received military education at the Odesa Institute of Land Forces and the National Defense University of Ukraine.
Military service
In 1998, he became a platoon commander in the 80th Separate Air Assault Brigade in Lviv.
Since 2014, he took part in hostilities in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
In 2016, he headed the Ukrainian unit during the international exercises “Maple Arch-2016”.
On October 14, 2022, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
In the same year, he was appointed commander of the 80th Okema Air Assault Brigade (ODSb). The following year, he took the position of Chief of Staff – Deputy Commander of the Brigade.
During the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation (RF), the 80th Brigade took part in the counteroffensive actions of the Defense Forces in the Kharkiv region.
On February 11, 2024, by decree of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Skybyuk was appointed commander of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On June 3, 2025, he received the chair of Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
