Maksym Derevyanchuk is a Ukrainian singer, singer-songwriter and musician.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on December 31, 2001 in the city of Varash.
He sang in kindergarten and school, participated in festive performances and events. However, despite his talent for music, he focused on football. Derevyanchuk’s parents repeatedly offered their son to study vocals professionally, but after several classes he stopped lessons.
He was educated at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” with a degree in “Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies”. Later, he decided to continue his studies in the master’s program.
Career
The turning point was when, in the second year of university, Derevyanchuk bought a guitar. At first, he learned to play by watching video tutorials on YouTube, performing cover versions of famous songs.
The stage name DREVO originated as a derivative of his surname.
The creative take-off began from the moment he began to write his own compositions. According to the musician himself, it was then that he had an extremely productive period.
The singer made the first recordings and videos for his tracks at home. Initially, the songs had a predominantly lyrical sound, but over time, the style changed. Today, his work is a combination of elements of modern rock with folk motifs.
Early in his career, DREVO caught the attention of listeners with an unusual timbre of voice, which some described as bardic. They even tried to compare him with some famous performers.
Derevyanchuk, in turn, does not deny that his work was influenced to some extent by the music of other performers. Among the favorites: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Rammstein, Michael Jackson and XXXTentacion.
The song “Airplane” brought the greatest popularity to the singer, which collected more than a million views on YouTube, and also went viral on TikTok. The idea for the song arose during the construction of a studio in Varasha, when Derevyanchuk and his friends carried sand in the heat, dreaming of a summer trip abroad.
National selection for Eurovision
The singer twice tried to get to Eurovision through the National Selection. During his first attempt in 2023, he applied with the original song “Life in Reverse”. Although he did not reach the final stage, the music producer of the competition, Dmitry Shurov, drew attention to him. Subsequently, the latter invited the singer to perform at one of his concerts.
For the second time, Derevyanchuk took part in the National Selection the following year, this time making it to the final with the song “Endless Chain”. The track combined elements of rock and the atmosphere of 8-bit video games. According to the results of the competition, he took 9th place.
Present
The first solo concert took place in October 2024 in Kyiv.
After that, the singer announced an upcoming tour of Ukrainian cities, scheduled for the winter and spring of 2025, but due to the mobilization of part of the team, the tour had to be postponed.
Today, Derevyanchuk collaborates with a professional team that records tracks in the studio and creates video clips. He also has a music producer and manager.

The singer has been in a relationship with a girl named Yanka for about three years, who supports him in his creative activities.
