Ekaterina Olegovna Kuznetsova is a Ukrainian theater and film actress, TV presenter.
Place of Birth, Education
She was born on July 12, 1987 in Kyiv.
Her father is Ukrainian football player Oleg Kuznetsov, and her mother is Alla Borisenko, an athlete.
Between 1990 and 1994, Kuznetsova lived with her family in Scotland. At the same time, she mastered English.
For about 10 years she performed as part of the Kyiv choir “Ogonyok”. At first, she dreamed of a career as an opera singer, but later she decided to connect her future with the theater. Her choice was influenced by the production of “Pygmalion” based on the work of Bernard Shaw. After watching the play, she became interested in theatrical art.
In 2009, she completed her studies at the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Film and Television. After that, she collaborated with the Kyiv Academic Young Theater.
Career
During her master’s studies, Kuznetsova hosted morning programs on the First National TV Channel. Herfirst television work was filming screensavers for the M1 channel. Later she starred in the video for the song “Gorodok” by the Leprechauns group.
In the fall of 2008, she took part in the TV show “Dancing for You!” on the channel “1+1” and won together with her partner Murat Nudel.
In 2006, the actress received a cameo role in the Ukrainian-Russian series “The Devil from Orly. Angel from Orly”.
For the first time, Kuznetsova appeared in the cinema during the filming of the series “The Return of Mukhtar-2”, playing the role of an athlete. After that, she received an offer to take part in the casting “Only Love”, in which she successfully passed the selection.
She also participated in the filming of various other television series: in 2008 – in “Atonement. Start over. Marta” and “A Woman Not Prone to Adventures”, and in 2007 she played one of the roles in “You Can’t Command the Heart”.
In 2011, the actress was invited to the casting for the film “Best Film 3D”. In the end, she liked the script, and as a result, Kuznetsova was approved for the main role.
Since the same year, she lived and worked in Moscow, where she played one of the main roles in the series “Kitchen”. In particular, she claimed that she would gladly return to filming in Ukraine if she received an invitation. At the same time, she does not plan to change her Ukrainian citizenship to Russian, as she is proud to be Ukrainian.
After the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Kuznetsova was in Spain. At the same time, she stated that she did not intend to return to Russia.
Later, she starred in the Ukrainian film “Train on December 31” and the television series “Love and Fire”.
Personal Life
Since 2012, she has been in a relationship with actor Yevhen Pronin. The couple got married in 2014, but divorced a year later. The divorce was officially filed in 2015.
