Alexei Sergeevich Gorbunov is a Soviet and Ukrainian theater and film actor.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on October 29, 1961 in the city of Kyiv.
He spent his childhood years in Rusanovka.
In 1978, after graduating from school, he planned to enter the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv Theater Institute, but without success due to the lack of membership in the Komsomol.
In the end, he was able to enter the university in 1984.
Career
During 1978 – 1979, Gorbunov worked at the Lesya Ukrainka Theater, where he was an installer and auxiliary worker in the costume shop. There, thanks to his acquaintance with Adya Rogovtseva, he met her husband, actor and teacher Konstantin Stepankov.
After receiving a diploma at the Karpenko-Kary Kyiv Theater Institute, Gorbunov began acting in his first film – “Cargo Without Marking”.
In the period from 1984 to 1995, he was an actor at the theater-studio of the film actor at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio.
From 1985 to 1987 he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.
In particular, in the 1990s, due to the difficult situation at the film studio, he was engaged in private transportation of passengers. Director Vladimir Popkov helped him return to cinema, inviting him to the role of the jester Chico in the television series “The Countess de Montsoreau”.
Gorbunov also worked at the private Chamber Theater of Mikhail Nestantiner and the Kyiv Theater of Russian Drama named after Lesya Ukrainka.
In 1998, he hosted the program “Night Alarm Clock” on Ukrainian television, and in 2008 – the TV project “Miracle People”.
He took part in the entreprise performances of the Theater Society 814 of Oleg Menshikov.
He played one of the roles in the television series “Guard”.
Music
Gorbunov was the organizer and host of two Kiev discos – “Dzhankoy” and “Jumanji”. He also worked as a DJ at the capital’s radio stations “Continent” and “Nostalgia”.
He is the vocalist of the musical group “Sad Pilota”.
On February 4, 2021, “Pilot’s Sadness” spoke to the servicemen of the 95th Separate Air Assault Brigade, members of their families and cadets of the Serhiy Korolev Zhytomyr Military Institute.
Community Service
On December 3, 2014, against the backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian war, Gorbunov decided to stop filming in all projects related to Russian cinema. Later, he emphasized that he did not plan to return to work in the Russian Federation (RF) as long as the war continues.
Awards
On January 22, 2016, Gorbunov was awarded the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine.
Earlier, on June 17, 1991, he received the honorary title of Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR.
In 2008, he won the Golden Eagle Award for Best Actor in the film “12”, and in 2011 he was awarded the Teletriumph Award in the category “Actor in a Television Movie/Series (Actor in a Male Role)”.
Marital Status
Gorbunov’s first wife was the artist Svetlana Lopukhova, the couple had a daughter, Anastasia Gorbunova.
The second wife was Irina Kovalyova. From this marriage, the actor has a daughter, Sofia Gorbunova.
