Place of Birth, Education
She was born on November 11, 1962 in Roswell, New Mexico. The father – Charles Foster Harmon Sr. – left the 18-year-old mother of the future actress Virginia King two months after the wedding, even before the birth of his daughter.
When Moore was three months old, her mother married Dan Hines. Due to the constant changes of the husband’s work, the family often had to move. In 1967, they had a son, Morgan Hines, Moore’s half-brother.
Moore spent her childhood in Roswell and later lived in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. At the age of 14, she returned to Roswell and lived with her grandmother for about six months. After that, she moved to Washington state, but a few months later the family settled in West Hollywood, California.
Career
1978 – 1990
In November 1978, when Moore was 16 years old, she left school and moved in with 28-year-old guitarist Tom Dunston. Thanks to Dunston’s mother, who worked as an assistant to producer Douglas Kramer, she got a job as a secretary at the reception of the 20th Century Studios film studio. Subsequently, she signed a contract with the modeling agency Elite Model Management. Her debut was small roles in the TV series “W.E.B.” and “Kaz”.
In January 1981, she appeared on the cover of the men’s magazine “Oui”. In the same year, she made her film debut, playing the girlfriend of the main character in the sports drama “Choice” directed by Silvio Narazziano.
Her next work was the sci-fi horror film “Parasite” in 1982.
At the time of the release of the film, Moore had already starred in the television series “General Hospital” for several months, where she played the role of investigative journalist Jackie Templeton. In 1991, the actress starred in three films of different genres at once: in the black comedy “Only Trouble” she played the role of a lawyer, in the thriller “Deadly Thoughts” – a woman suspected of murder, and in the romantic comedy “The Butcher’s Wife” she played a clairvoyant.
The following three films with Moore topped the box office:
- Rob Reiner’s drama “A Few Good Guys” in 1992;

On February 8, 1981, the actress married musician Freddie Moore, the leader of the band “Boy”. Even before the wedding, she began to use his last name as a stage name. After the divorce, Moore became engaged to actor Emilio Estevez. The wedding was planned for December 6, 1986, but it was eventually canceled.
On November 21, 1987, she married actor Bruce Willis. The marriage produced three daughters: Rumer Glenn Willis, Scout Larue Willis, and Talulah Belle Willis. On June 24, 1998, the couple announced their separation, and on October 18, 2000, they officially filed for divorce. Despite this, the actress maintained friendly relations with Willis.
From 1999 to 2002, she was in a relationship with martial arts instructor Oliver Whitcomb.
