He was born on May 4, 1972 in Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia region.
He received higher education at the Classical Private University in Zaporizhzhia.
Career
He served in the military in the city of Pryluky, Chernihiv region.
After demobilization, he worked as an electrician on a collective farm. Subsequently, he took up entrepreneurial activities, holding senior positions in companies, including Eurocape New Energy, ECE Projektmanagement GMBH, Agrostal and Tsvetmet.
Political Activities
In 2012, he nominated his candidacy for the Verkhovna Rada as an independent candidate in constituency No. 75, but lost. In 2014, he again participated in the parliamentary elections, but this time from the Volia party. Again, it is unsaltative.
During the 2019 presidential election, he was a confidant of candidate Volodymyr Zelensky. In the same year, he participated in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada from the Servant of the People party and won the mandate of a people’s deputy.
In the Verkhovna Rada, he joined the mono-majority faction and became a member of the Committee on Economic Development.
At the end of May 2021, the Servant of the People party decided to expel him from the faction. This happened after he made a trip to Minsk, where he met with Alexander Lukashenko. He also spoke out in support of his policies.
In September 2022, he joined the deputy group “Restoration of Ukraine”.
In May 2023, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, Kyrylo Budanov , said that Shevchenko secretly contacted Lukashenka at the request of the Ukrainian special services.
On May 24, the Servant of the People faction announced his expulsion.
