Place of Birth, Education
He was born on November 21, 1964 in the village of Pasichna, Nadvirna district, Ivano-Frankivsk region.
In 1988 he graduated from the Ternopil State Pedagogical Institute, having received a diploma in the specialty “Physical Education”.
In 1998, he completed his studies at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management, where he received the qualification of a lawyer.
In 2001, he graduated from the National Academy of Internal Affairs with a degree in Jurisprudence.
Career
He held the position of director of a sports school in the village of Koshlyaki, Ternopil region.
In the period from 1988 to 1996, he served in the structure of the State Automobile Inspectorate of Ternopil region, managed the car industry of the regional police department.
In 1998, he headed the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ternopil region and held this position until 2000. After that, he worked as deputy head of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine.
During 2002 – 2004,he held the position of head of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Rivne region.
In 2004 – 2005, he served as the head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration (RSA).
In 2005, he headed the Department of Criminal Police for Children of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. Later he was appointed head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Lviv region.
From 2007 to 2010, he headed the department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Poltava region, after which he returned to a similar position in the Lviv region.
In June 2010, he was re-appointed to the post of head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration in accordance with the decree of the then President Viktor Yanukovych. In December of the same year, he was transferred to the post of head of the Lviv Regional State Administration, but in November 2011 he was fired.
At the end of 2011, he headed the Lviv State University of Internal Affairs, where he worked as rector until February 2014.
Political Activities
In 2002, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada and the Ternopil Regional Council as an independent candidate in constituency No. 166, but without success.
At the end of 2015, he began acting as the head of the regional branch of the All-Ukrainian Association (VO) “Batkivshchyna” in the Lviv region, and in April 2016 he officially headed the party organization in the region.
In the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, in 2019, he received the mandate of a people’s deputy of the IX convocation, running under No. 15 on the Batkivshchyna list. In the parliament, he took the position of First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights.
In 2020, he headed the list of “Batkivshchyna” in the elections to the Lviv Regional Council.
Marital Status
Married to Zoryana Tsymbalyuk. The couple has a son, Vitaliy.
