Place of Birth, Education
She was born on January 21, 1963 in the village of Novokubanka, Tselinograd region, Kazakhstan. After graduating from school, she entered the Kharkiv Aviation Institute, where she received the qualification of a mechanical engineer of aircraft engines.
She received a master’s degree in finance from the International Institute of Market Relations and Entrepreneurship. She also completed her studies at the Institute of International Relations of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (KNU).
Career
In the period from 1991 to 1999, she worked in the field of insurance, and also held the position of an engineer in a military unit.
In 1999, she became the chairman of the board of the insurance company “ASKA – Life”.
From 2009 to 2010, she worked at the State Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets, where, in particular, she held the position of director of one of the departments.
In 2017, she participated in the work of the group as an expert “Reform of the financial sector and pension system” in the “Reanimation Package of Reforms” union.
She also held the position of Director General of the Association “Ukrainian Federation of Security” and headed the NGO “Institute of Civil Liberties”. She is considered a co-founder of the limited liability companies “Mavrik” and “Pro100 Delta”.
In the period from 2015 to 2019, she was a member of public councils at a number of state institutions and bodies, in particular at the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Health, the National Commission for Regulation of Financial Services Markets, as well as at the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Tax and Customs Policy. In addition, she was a member of the board of the Pension Fund of Ukraine and headed its public council.
Political Activities
In the parliamentary elections of 2019, she was elected a people’s deputy of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party.
He heads the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Social Policy and Protection of Veterans’ Rights.
In particular, she is a member of the delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group, as well as a representative in the working subgroup on humanitarian issues.
Scandals
On January 2, 2020, in an interview, she expressed the opinion that citizens of retirement age living in the territories temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation (RF) have the right to receive two pensions.
At the end of June of the same year, she said that she considered children born in low-income families to be of “very low quality”, while citing as an example the practice of Singapore, where sterilization of women with a low level of education was previously used.
