David Georgievich Arakhamia – People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation, head of the Servant of the People faction (2019 – present time).
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on May 23, 1979 in Sochi, Russia. For some time he lived in Georgia, and in 1992, against the backdrop of the war in Abkhazia, he moved with his parents to Mykolaiv. There he completed his studies at school No. 36.
He received his master’s degree at the European University.
In addition, he studied in the master’s program at the Open University in London.
Career
Arakhamia is one of the co-founders of the international company in the field of IT Template Monster.
In March 2014, together with like-minded people, he created a web resource to raise funds for the support of servicemen of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade. The project was the beginning of a volunteer movement called “People’s Project” aimed at supporting the Ukrainian military in the area of the anti-terrorist operation (ATO).
In August 2014, ARahamiya was appointed as an adviser to the head of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration (RMA) on volunteering. In September of the same year, he received the post of Authorized Minister of Defense responsible for procurement, and in October he became an adviser to the Minister of Defense and headed the Council of Volunteers at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He also became a co-founder of the Association of People’s Volunteers of Ukraine and took over the coordination of the activities of the “volunteer landing” – a team of volunteers who began working in the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
In 2016, he launched a new project – the Weblium online platform, created to simplify the process of website development.
Political Activities
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, Arakhamia became a people’s deputy of Ukraine, running for the Servant of the People party.
On August 29, 2019, he was elected chairman of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction in the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation. In the parliament, he is a member of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence.
Marital Status
He is married to Victoria Arakhamia. He has six children.
