Place of Birth, Education
He was born on April 29, 1963, in the village of Stetsivka, Cherkasy Oblast.
He received his higher education at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where he graduated in 1988 with a degree in “Law” and received his diploma.
Career
From 1980 to 1981, he worked at the Vatutine Motor Transport Association No. 23663, located in the Cherkasy Oblast. From 1981 to 1983, he served in the Armed Forces of the Soviet Union.
In 1988, he began his professional career in the judicial system, first as a trainee people’s judge and later serving as a judge in the People’s Court of the Shevchenkivskyi District of Kyiv. In the summer of 1989, he officially assumed the position of judge at that court.
From 2000 to 2011, he held leadership positions at the Shevchenkivskyi District Court in the capital, first as deputy chief judge and later as chief judge.
In the spring of 2011, he began working at the High Specialized Court of Ukraine for Civil and Criminal Cases as a judge. Three years later, he was appointed chief judge of the court.
In December 2017, he was elected head of the Civil Court of Cassation, which operates as part of the Supreme Court.
In addition, in the summer of 2019, he joined the Commission on Legal Reform.
