Agit Kabayel is a German professional boxer, WBC (2025 – present) heavyweight champion, EBU European heavyweight champion (2017 – 2019, 2023).

He was born on September 23, 1992 in the German city of Leverkusen.
In the late 1990s, his family moved to Bochum-Wattenscheid. There, my father opened his own snack bar.
In his youth, Cabayel played football, but over time he changed his sporting direction. He first switched to kickboxing, and later focused on boxing.
Career
2010 – 2015
Cabayel’s professional debut took place at the age of 18 – on June 23, 2011 in Wuppertal.
After a series of 9 consecutive victories on March 22, 2014, Kabayel entered the title fight in Tekirdaz, Turkey, where he won the belt of the WBC Mediterranean Region, defeating Gbenga Oluokun.
2015 – 2020
After that, he won 2 early victories over Shalva Jomardashvili and Lawrence Tauasa. Then he knocked out Christian Lewandowski, who was undefeated at that time, and won the title of European champion according to the EBU.
On February 4, 2017 in Magdeburg, Kabayel defeated Belgian Hervé Hubo by unanimous decision and confirmed the status of the EBU European heavyweight champion.
On November 4, he defended his European title in a fight against Derek Chisora. He spent the second defense of the European belt on April 21, 2018 in Berlin-Neukölln, where he knocked out Serbian Miljan Rovcanin in the 3rd round.
Kabayel won the third European title according to the EBU on March 2, 2019 in Magdeburg, defeating Ukrainian Andriy Rudenko. In September, he became the first German boxer to sign a promotional contract with the American sports television channel ESPN.
2020 – tep. Time
On July 18, 2020, he won the WBA continental title on points in a fight against the Greek Eugene Lazaridis.
In June 2021, he successfully defended the belt by defeating Kevin Johnson.
On March 4, 2023, Cabayel regained the title of European champion according to the EBU. In a fight in Bochum, he knocked out Croatian Agron Smakici in the 3rd round, although before that he himself was knocked down in the previous round.
At the end of the year, he won one of the most high-profile victories in his career. On December 23, he defeated the previously undefeated Russian Arslanbek Makhmudov by technical knockout in the 4th round. The victory earned him the WBA Inter-Continental and NABF North American titles.
The next big step was taken on May 18, 2024. He knocked out undefeated Cuban Frank Sanchez in the 7th round with a record of 24-0, winning the WBC Continental Americas and NABO North American belts.
In February 2025, Kabayel went global. On February 22, he knocked out China’s Zhang Zhilei in the 6th round with a record of 27-2 and became the interim WBC world champion.
He confirmed his status on January 10, 2026, winning by technical knockout over Damian Knyba, who had previously had a 17-0 record.
