Alla Borisovna Pugacheva is a Soviet and Russian singer, film actress, TV presenter, composer, director, producer.
Place of Birth, Education
She was born on April 15, 1949 in Moscow. She spent her childhood in the capital.
In 1954, when she was 5 years old, she first performed on stage – she took part in a big concert in the column hall of the House of Unions.
In 1956, at the age of 7, her parents enrolled her in music school No. 31 at the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music College. In the same year, she began studying in the first grade of Moscow secondary school No. 496.
In 1964, she completed her studies at a music school in the piano class, and also graduated from 8 grades of high school. After that, she entered the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music School.
Career
Pugacheva took her first stage steps while studying. She performed as part of the ensemble “Merry Guys”, touring various cities of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). In 1967, she left the team and began a solo career.
In 1971 she won the All-Union Competition of Young Pop Song Performers in Leningrad.
In 1975, she won the international competition “Golden Orpheus” in Bulgaria with the composition “Harlequin”. After that, she released an album of the same name and became one of the most famous singers in the USSR.
In 1976, she performed at the International Song Festival in Cannes, where she performed her hit “Maestro”.
In 1997, she took part in Eurovision, but the performance in Dublin with the song “Prima Donna” ended unsuccessfully: she took 15th place out of 25.
In the “noughties” she created her own award “Golden Star of Alla”, headed the jury of the “Slavic Bazaar”, was the producer of the “Star Factory”, participated in the creative evenings of the composer Igor Krutoy, with whom she worked closely.
She starred in musical TV films, including Chasing Two Hares, was a participant in the New Wave competition in Jurmala and hosted various concert programs and TV projects, including Two Stars and Song of the Year.
In 2007, Radio Alla began broadcasting, which eventually became one of the most popular in Moscow.
In 2008, the singer’s 19th album “Invitation to the Event” was released, which became Pugacheva’s last studio work.
In the 2010s, she continued to work on television. In the project “Factor A” she was engaged in the search for young performers, and on the Ukrainian TV channel “Inter” she was a co-host of the program “Morning Mail”.
In 2019, a large-scale concert “Alla Pugacheva. P.S.”, dedicated to her 70th birthday.
After the Kremlin authorities included her husband in the list of so-called foreign agents in the fall of 2022 because of her anti-war stance, Pugacheva said that she also asked to be included in the list of “unreliable”. In particular, she closed her business in Russia and moved to Israel.
Marital Status
From 1969 to 1973, she was married to Lithuanian circus artist Mykolas Orbakas. In 1971, their daughter Khrystyna was born.
From 1977 to 1981 she was married to film director Alexander Stefanovich, and from 1985 to 1993 – with concert director and producer Evgeny Boldin.
In 1994, she married singer Philip Kirkorov. They officially divorced in 2005.
Since 2011, she has been married to comedian Maxim Galkin. The couple has a son, Harry, and a daughter, Elizabeth, who were born by surrogate mother.
