Dmytro Oleksandrovych Razumkov – People’s Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation, head of the inter-factional association “Smart Policy”.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on October 8, 1983 in the city of Berdychiv, Zhytomyr region. He completed his studies at the capital’s lyceum No. 38.
He received two higher educations. He graduated from the Kyiv Institute of International Relations with a degree in International Economic Relations, and also studied at the National University of the State Tax Service, where he received a degree in Jurisprudence.
Career
He started working in the field of political consulting and election campaigns in 2006. He specializes in analytical and informational work in the field of domestic and foreign policy of the state, as well as the adaptation and implementation of political technologies for the implementation of strategies for the formation of public opinion and image.
He holds the position of Managing Partner in the analytical company “Ukrainian Politconsulting Group” with Vasyl Mokan and Nelly Yakovleva.
Political Activities
During 2006 – 2010, he was a member of the Party of Regions, but left it after Viktor Yanukovych’s victory in the presidential elections in 2010.
In the period from 2010 to 2014, he collaborated with Serhiy Tihipko, with whom his family had long-standing ties. It was Tihipko who Dmytro’s father once recommended Pavel Lazarenko for the post of Deputy Prime Minister in the government.
During the 2019 presidential election campaign, he was one of the main political consultants to candidate Volodymyr Zelensky.
On May 27, 2019, he headed the Servant of the People party. However, on November 10 of the same year, the party elected Oleksandr Kornienko as the new chairman.
During the parliamentary elections in 2019, he was elected a people’s deputy from the Servant of the People.
On August 29, 2019, he took the post of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the IX convocation, gaining the support of 382 people’s deputies.
On October 7, 2021, the parliament decided to resign him from the post of Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada.
Marital Status
He is married to Yulia Chaika, the daughter of the former mayor of Mykolaiv Volodymyr Chaika. The couple have two sons – Alexander and Alexei.
His father, Oleksandr Razumkov, was born in 1959. He served as the first assistant to President Leonid Kuchma. In the period from 1997 to 1999, he worked as Deputy Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). He passed away in 1999
Mother, Natalia Kudrya, has the title of People’s Artist of Ukraine.
