Yanina Sokolova

Yanina Mykhailivna Sokolova is a Ukrainian actress, journalist, TV presenter, blogger.

Place of Birth, Education

She was born on March 6, 1984 in the city of Zaporizhzhia.

She received higher education in two institutions. First, she completed her studies at Zaporizhzhia National University as a psychologist. After that, she studied at the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv National University of Theater, Film and Television, where she received a theater and cinematographic education.

Career

She began her career in journalism, working for the Telecity publication. Later, she joined the editorial board of the newspaper “Zaporizhzhia Sich”, and in the period from 2000 to 2001 she underwent an internship at the local TV channel TV5, where she was a weather forecast presenter.

In 2003, she became the host of the TV program “All the Money of the World”, which was aired on the Lugansk TV channel “LOT”.

The following year, she began acting, joining the troupe of the Kyiv Free Theater. She performed on stage until 2006, after which she returned to television. At first, she worked on the Inter TV channel, and later joined the 1+1 team, where she became the host of the morning show Breakfast with 1+1.

In 2009, she joined Channel Five, where she worked as a host of the programs “Morning on the Fifth” and “Cinema with Yanina Sokolova”.

Six years later, she launched her own television project “Rendezvous with Yanina Sokolova”, in which she interviewed influential politicians, well-known entrepreneurs, media representatives and other public figures.

In 2019, she began work on the film “I, Nina”, acting as its producer. The basis for the script was Sokolova’s personal story of her struggle with cancer.

The following year, she launched the author’s program “How Are You Not Ashamed!” on the Ukraine 24 TV channel, owned by Rinat Akhmetov. However, after three episodes, the project was closed, and it continued to be released under the name “Shame!” on her YouTube channel.

In the same year, she became the founder of the charitable foundation “Worth Living”.

Marital Status

Divorced. The ex-husband is banker Vladimir Lytvyn. He is raising two sons, Mykola and Myron.
