Valery Viktorovich Zhidkov is a screenwriter, TV presenter, scriptwriter for the show “Studio Kvartal 95”.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on March 24, 1975 in the city of Tambov in the family of a policeman.
He received his higher education at the Tambov State Technical University, where he received a degree in systems engineering. After completing his studies, he served in the army, and later worked as an operative in the police for two years.
Career
At one time, Zhidkov began playing in the Tambov Wolves KVN team, and later joined Tapka’s Children.
He first came to Kyiv in 1999 with the Tambov Wolves. In 2003, together with former KVN members, he moved from Kryvyi Rih to Kyiv. The creative team became the basis for the creation of Studio Kvartal 95.
Since 2003, he has been an author at Studio Kvartal 95 and worked on the script of the musical “Like Cossacks…” as one of the co-authors. For more than 20 years, living in Ukraine, Zhidkov remained a citizen of the Russian Federation (RF), while having a Ukrainian residence permit. Only in 2022, after Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he received Ukrainian citizenship.
In August 2023, Georgy Uchaikin, who heads the Ukrainian Association of Gun Owners, published a document from which it became known that in June 2022, Ivan Bakanov, the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and head of the Kvartal 95 studio, awarded Zhidkov with a Glock 17 personalized weapon. At that time, Zhidkov had the status of an adviser to the head of the SBU on a voluntary basis.
Scandals
During one of the issues of the author’s program, Zhidkov said that he advised future people’s deputies to remove from the Constitution the provision that defines Ukraine’s strategic course of accession to NATO and the European Union (EU).
Marital Status
He is married to Maria Zhidkova (nee Vasiliev), who was born on December 29, 1979.
The couple have two daughters:
- Elizaveta Zhidkova, who was born on August 15, 2004;
- Sofia Zhidkova, who was born on October 8, 2014.
