Daniel Salem is a Ukrainian restaurateur and TV presenter, actor.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on January 25, 1984 in Odesa.
At the age of 6, he moved with his family to Lebanon – to his father’s homeland, and when he was 11 years old, he began working as a shoe shiner.
After graduating from school, he served in the Lebanese Armed Forces.
He received his higher education in Beirut and studied English philology.
During his life, he lived in several countries, including Morocco, Turkey, Egypt, France and Canada.
Also in 2009, he graduated from the Odessa National Medical University, obtaining the specialty of an ophthalmologist surgeon.
Career
Salem once opened the Bourbon Rock Bar, which combined a pub and a tattoo parlor, and later – a barbershop and the Amsterdam Hotel.
In August 2016, he became the host of the project “Love for Survival” on Novy Channel.
At the beginning of 2019, he joined the second season of the reality show “Hooligans” on the TV channel “Friday!” as a host.
In August of the same year, he took part in the sixth season of the Ukrainian show “Dancing with the Stars” on the 1+1 TV channel. He performed in a duet with choreographer Yulia Sakhnevich.
In 2020, Salem took part in the 10th season of the vocal show “The Voice of the Country” on the 1+1 TV channel.
The following year, he became a TV presenter of the Star Trek program on the Ukraine channel, and in October 2024, he became the host of the morning show Dawn on the M1 TV channel.
Full-scale war in Ukraine
At the beginning of the full-scale invasion in 2022, Salem turned to the military registration and enlistment office. At first, he was sent to the territorial defense unit, but later he moved to the intelligence unit.
During the hostilities, he was wounded in the back.
Filmography
In 2020, Salem played the role of Andrei in the TV series “Doctor Vera”, and the next year he played the role of Igor in the film “Love Without Hesitate”.
In 2024, he appeared in the film “The Konotop Witch”, where he played a soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
In 2025, he played Nazar in the film “Blind Leave”.
