Yevhen Smorygin

Evgeny Mikhailovich Smorygin is a Belarusian and Ukrainian actor, TV presenter, screenwriter, producer.

Place of Birth, Education

He was born on January 28, 1979 in Minsk, Belarus.

He received higher education at the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. He also studied at the Belarusian State Pedagogical University, majoring in Psychology.

Career

He gained fame thanks to his performances in the team of the Club of the Merry and Quick-Witted (KVN) “PP Minsk”.

During 2000 – 2002 he was a co-host of the humorous TV show “Doctor X”. From 2007 to 2008, together with his colleagues, he hosted the musical and entertainment program “The Magnificent Five” on the Belarusian TV channel “ONT”. During the same period, in cooperation with other participants of “PP Minsk”, he participated in the creation of the festival “New Wave” in Jurmala, Latvia.

In 2009, he hosted the program “Commercial Break” on ONT, and also acted as an author and actor of the music-parody show “Everything in Our Way”, which aired on the Russian TV channel “STS”. In the same year, together with his colleague from KVN Dmitry Tankovich, he received the title of the best host of the musical and entertainment program (“The Magnificent Five”) according to the results of the fifth national television competition “Telepeak” in Belarus.

Smorygin began to cooperate with the Ukrainian TV channel “STB” from the first season of the show “Ukraine’s Got Talent!”. As part of the creative group, which he was part of together with Tankovich, he worked on creating numbers for the participants of the semi-finals and finals. In 2010, he became a co-host of the talk show “Second Chance”.

In 2010, Smorygin, together with Tankovich, became the host of the humorous program “Funny People” on STB.

In the period from 2010 to 2015, he worked as a creative producer of the comedy television series “Three Sisters”, which aired on the K1 TV channel. In 2012, he acted as a creative producer and screenwriter of the project “Diary of a Pregnant Man” on the same TV channel. During 2012 – 2015, he held a similar position in the television series “Online”, which was broadcast on the UFO channel.

In 2014, he took part in two Russian humorous TV shows – “It’s Funny” on the Rossiya-1 TV channel and “Organization of Certain Nations” on REN TV.

Since 2015, he joined the creative team “Diesel Studio”, where he became an actor in several projects: the concert program “Diesel Show”, the sketch “For Three” and the comedy series “Daddies”.

In 2021, he appeared in Oksana Marchenko’s documentary series called “Pilgrim”.

Personal Life

Married, wife – Lydia. The couple have three children: Alexey, Elizabeth and Alexander.
