Anton Gerashchenko is a former adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakova (2019-2021), MP of the VIII convocation from the People’s Front party.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on February 10, 1979 in the city of Kharkiv.
In 2000 he completed his studies at Kharkiv State University of Economics. He majored in Enterprise Economics and qualified as an economist.
Career
From July 1999 to June 2000, he worked as a planning economist in the Department for Coordination of the Use of Resources of the Joint Stock Energy Company (AEK) Kharkivoblenergo (since March 2000 – Kharkivoblenergo).
From March 2005 to April 2010, he served as the head of the Krasnograd District State Administration in the Kharkiv region.
In the period from March to November 2014, he worked as a freelance adviser to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov.
From September 25, 2019 to August 4, 2021, he served as Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He was responsible for coordinating the legislative support of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), interaction with the Verkhovna Rada, the work of the Public Council under the Ministry of Internal Affairs and liaison with the media.
In August 2021, after his dismissal from the post of Deputy Minister, he was appointed adviser to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Denys Monastyrskyi.
Political Activities
In 2002-2006, Gerashchenko was a deputy of the Kharkiv City Council. At the same time, he was in the ranks of the People’s Union Our Ukraine (NSNU) party, where he headed the Krasnograd district organization of the political force.
From November 27, 2014 to August 2019, he was a people’s deputy of the VIII convocation from the People’s Front party.
Marital Status
Married to Olesa. The wife has a son from her first marriage.
In 2016, the couple had a child.
