Pavel Alexandrovich Vyshebaba – writer, military, musician.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on March 28, 1986 in Kramatorsk.
At first, he studied engineering at the Donbas Machine-Building Academy, but after the 3rd year he left the institution and entered the Faculty of Journalism of Mariupol State University.
After graduating from the university in 2012, he moved to Kyiv.
Career
During his studies at the university, he worked for 3 years in the newspaper “Priazovsky Rabochy”.
He worked in the press center of the National Resistance Headquarters during the Revolution of Dignity.
After the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych’s regime, he worked for about 2 years in the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. He was responsible for international communications and interaction between ministries, later he was engaged in communications of the Verkhovna Rada.
Since 2014, he has completely switched to Ukrainian, explaining this by the occupation of Kramatorsk.
Community Service
On April 13, 2016, he opened the vegan café “One Planet”, and in August he founded the “One Planet Orchestra”.
During the summer of 2017, the band collected more than 45 thousand hryvnias on the Spilnokosht platform to record an album. The band released 2 albums and a single.
In December 2016, he became a co-founder of the public organization “United Planet”, which advocates a ban on fur farms, an end to the exploitation of animals and combating climate change.
A year later, Vyshebaba was appointed Envoy for Tolerance of the United Nations Development Program (UN) in Ukraine.
Since 2018, he has coordinated the FurOFF campaign.
He initiated and joined the development of draft law No. 10019 on the prohibition of fur production, registered on February 7, 2019. However, the document was not considered due to the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation. At the end of October, a new draft No. 2360 was submitted to the Rada of the IX convocation.
At the beginning of 2019, he opposed the construction of a mink farm in the village of Pidhirne in Volyn. He also supported the community in the Brody district of the Lviv region, where they opposed the opening of 3 farms. As a result, the district council banned their creation.
In 2020, he ran for the Kyiv City Council from the Ecological Alternative party, but the political force did not pass the barrier.
As a coordinator of the “FurOFF” campaign, he was a co-organizer of more than 40 actions in Kyiv – near the Verkhovna Rada, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Office of the President and the Ministry of Ecology. He also collaborated with communities in Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Lviv and Volyn regions that opposed mink farms.
On March 10, 2021, the documentary “Norkotraffic: The Truth About Fur Farms in Ukraine” was released, co-directed by Vyshebaba.
After the start of the full-scale invasion, he joined the 68th separate huntsman brigade. Since 2022, he has been the commander of the field communication center, since 2025 – the mortar of the Minotaur battery.
Writing activity
In 2022, he published the collection “Just Don’t Write to Me About the War”. The first edition of 15 thousand copies was sold out in 15 days back in December 2022. In February 2023, an updated edition was released. For two weeks, the book was included in the TOP-20 sales of the Bookstore Ye chain.
Vyshebaba’s poetry was included in the collections “What He Is Silent About”, “War 2022. Diaries, Essays, Poetry”, “Unbreakable”, “Among the Sirens. New Poems of War”, “Sunny Lion”, “Book Love 3.0 Love That Wins” and others.
In 2023, the bilingual book “My Generation” was published in Poland.
In 2023, on behalf of the command, he conducted a charity tour of 15 cities of Ukraine, after which he transferred 4.3 million hryvnias to the needs of the 68th brigade.
A year later, he performed on a European tour in 13 cities in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium.
In particular, the poem “Daughters” and the story “Martians” were included in the curriculum on Ukrainian literature for schools in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science.
In 2024 – 2025, together with psychologist Volodymyr Stanchyshyn, he created the podcast “In Touch”, during which the issues of interaction between the military and civilians, PTSD, loss and memory culture were raised. The project was dedicated to Iryna Tsybukh, who initiated the idea, but did not have time to implement it.
Marital Status
He was married. On April 18, 2023, he announced his divorce. He has a daughter.
