Timur Mindich

Timur Mikhailovich Mindich is a Ukrainian businessman of Jewish descent, a film producer, and a co-owner of the production company “Studio Kvartal 95.”

Place of Birth, Education

He was born on September 19, 1979, in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro).

He comes from a family of entrepreneurs—Mykhailo and Stella Mindich.

Career

At one time, Mindich worked in film production. He worked on the following films:

  • “Solo” and “Team” from 2016.
  • “Cop Wars: Odessa” (2017);
  • “The She-Wolf’s Bite” and “Don’t Let Go” (2019);
  • “The Ratcatcher” (2020);
  • “The Physician’s Oath,” 2021;

He is a co-owner of the Kvartal TV channel. He holds a stake in the limited liability company (LLC) “Kvartal 95” and in the Cypriot company Green Family Ltd, which held the rights to “Kvartal 95” productions in Russia.

He worked for a while at the “1+1” TV channel.

He worked for a long time with Serhiy Shefir, a co-founder of “Kvartal 95” and former chief of staff to current President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

He has ties to Ihor Kolomoyskyi. In 2019, Kolomoyskyi referred to him as his business partner in minor projects, particularly real estate development projects.

The businessman is also considered to be close to Zelenskyy. He supported Zelenskyy during the 2019 campaign, and in 2020, journalists repeatedly reported on Mindich’s unofficial visits to the Office of the President.

In 2025, reports emerged about Mindich’s alleged ties to Fire Point, a company that supplied drones and missiles to the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

On November 13, the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) imposed sanctions against the businessman. The sanctions consist of a package of 18 restrictions, including the freezing of assets, a ban on their use and disposal, and the permanent revocation of state awards and other honors.

Operation “Midas”

In November 2025, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), carried out Operation “Midas, which targeted corruption schemes in the energy sector. The investigation lasted 15 months, during which approximately 1,000 hours of recordings were collected.

Losses incurred by state-owned companies, including “Energoatom,” could have reached $100 million. Mindich was also implicated in the searches, but he had fled Ukraine before they took place.

Subsequently, the SAP officially named Mindich as the mastermind behind the scheme. Prior to that, he had been implicated

under the alias “Carlson.” According to investigators, the suspect used his connections in government to influence Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko. It is also noted that the minister benefited from this assistance and relied on Mindich’s help to launder funds.

Effective December 1, 2025, Mindichu was ordered, in absentia , to be held in custody as a pretrial measure.

Marital Status

He is married to Kateryna Verber, the daughter of Alla Verber, the fashion director of Moscow’s TSUM and vice president of the jewelry company Mercury.

Mindichi’s wife is the founder of Kameron and owns Balmain, Dolce & Gabbana, Saint Laurent, and Polo Ralph Lauren boutiques in Kyiv.

The couple got married in 2010 in Jerusalem. They are raising three children—their daughters Michelle and Elizabeth, and their son Michael.
