{"id":7020,"date":"2026-08-25T15:14:30","date_gmt":"2026-08-25T12:14:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepersona.com.ua\/officials\/yevhen-maloletka-7020\/"},"modified":"2026-08-25T15:14:43","modified_gmt":"2026-08-25T12:14:43","slug":"yevhen-maloletka","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepersona.com.ua\/en\/journalists\/yevhen-maloletka-7020\/","title":{"rendered":"Yevhen Maloletka"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Yevhen Konstantinovich Maloletka is a photojournalist.  <\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Place of Birth, Education<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was born on <strong>March 1, 1987<\/strong> in Berdyansk.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2010, he graduated from the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute with a degree in engineering.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2009, Maloletka began working as a photojournalist and publishing his materials in the agencies &#8220;UNIAN&#8221; and PHL.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After that, he worked as a freelancer, and also collaborated with the Associated Press, Al Jazeera and Der Spiegel.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2013-2014, <strong>he covered the events of Euromaidan in Kyiv<\/strong>. On December 1, 2013, during a shooting on Bankova Street near the Presidential Administration, Berkut officers broke his arm and damaged his camera. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2020-2021, Maloletka <strong>covered the COVID-19 pandemic in Ukraine<\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the night of February 24, 2022, together with video journalist Mstyslav Chernov, he arrived in Mariupol as part of an Associated Press business trip. After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation (RF), they documented the consequences of enemy shelling and the work of local hospitals. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 9, Maloletka <strong>filmed the aftermath of the attack on the city hospital No. 3 and the maternity ward<\/strong>. His photos of injured pregnant women and a destroyed building have become one of the most famous shots of the full-scale war. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On March 15, 2022, Maloletka and Chernov left Mariupol as part of a convoy that left the city through a humanitarian corridor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yevhen Konstantinovich Maloletka is a photojournalist.
