Olga Vyacheslavovna Sumskaya is an actress and TV presenter. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Place of Birth, Education<\/h2>\n\n

She was born on August 22, 1966<\/strong> in Lviv. Even in her school years, she studied music. <\/p>\n\n

In 1987, she completed her studies at the Ivan Karpenko-Kary Kyiv Theater Institute.<\/p>\n\n

Career<\/h2>\n\n

Theatrical career<\/h3>\n\n

From 1987 to 2006, Sumska worked at the Lesya Ukrainka Academic National Theater of Russian Drama. For this, she played in a number of plays: “Suicide”, “Crazy Money”, “The Inspector General”, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”, “Bloody Wedding” and others. <\/p>\n\n

Film career<\/h3>\n\n

In the film, she starred in the films “Evenings on a Farm Near Dykanka”, “At the Call of the Heart”, “Trap”, “Cinderella”, “Chasing Two Hares” and others.<\/p>\n\n

She gained wide fame in 1996 after the release of the series “Roksolana – Captive of the Sultan”,<\/strong> where she played the main role. <\/p>\n\n

After that, she also appeared in the films “Notes of the Snub-nosed Mephistopheles”, “Several Love Stories”, “Tiger Catchers” and others.<\/p>\n\n

Television career <\/h3>\n\n

From 1997 to 2008, she hosted the program “Empire of Cinema” on the 1+1 TV channel. <\/p>\n\n

Also in 2006, she became a participant in the first season of the show “Dancing with the Stars”, and since 2013 she has been an expert in the “Battle of Psychics” on STB. <\/p>\n\n

In 2017, she became a member of the jury of the “League of Laughter” on “1+1”.<\/p>\n\n

Political Activities<\/h3>\n\n

Sumska was a member of the political council of Lev Partskhaladze’s European Capital party. <\/p>\n\n

In 2006, she ran for the Kyiv City Council and for the post of mayor of Kyiv as an independent candidate.<\/p>\n\n

She has the title of Honored Artist of Ukraine<\/strong>. Laureate of the Taras Shevchenko National Prize. <\/p>\n\n
