{"id":6008,"date":"2025-09-05T11:28:10","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T08:28:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepersona.com.ua\/andriy-biletskyi-6008\/"},"modified":"2026-07-21T18:11:52","modified_gmt":"2026-07-21T15:11:52","slug":"andriy-biletskyi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepersona.com.ua\/en\/military\/andriy-biletskyi-6008\/","title":{"rendered":"Andriy Biletskyi"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Andriy Biletskyi is a Ukrainian serviceman, commander of the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (March 2025 \u2013 current time).<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Place of Birth, Education<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He was born on <strong>August 5, 1979<\/strong> in Kharkiv.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He received higher education at the Faculty of History of Vasyl Karazin Kharkiv National University. He dedicated his thesis to the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.   <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Career  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After completing his studies at the university, he worked as a teacher in higher educational institutions in Kharkiv, at the same time researching the military history of Ukraine. Since his student years, he has been actively involved in political activities. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In March 2001, he took part in protests in Kyiv as part of the campaign &#8220;Ukraine without Kuchma&#8221;. During the protests, he was detained by law enforcement agencies and received administrative arrest. According to the biography, after that, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) allegedly tried to force the leadership of Kharkiv National University to expel him from the number of students.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2002,<strong> he headed the Kharkiv detachment of the All-Ukrainian organization &#8220;Trident&#8221; named after Stepan Bandera<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2006, he founded the Society for Assistance to the Armed Forces and the Navy of Ukraine &#8220;Patriot of Ukraine&#8221; in Kharkiv, as well as the public organization of the same name. From the beginning of its activity, Biletsky was engaged in organizing, planning and participating in such activities as the fight against drug trafficking and the detention of illegal migrants. He also led a variety of mass actions, including marches, sporting events, civil disobedience actions, and even power demonstrations.  <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2008, he initiated the creation and became the leader of the Social National Assembly, a political organization that united several right-wing radical movements.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On November 19, 2011, <strong>an attempt was made on Biletsky<\/strong>: in the entrance of his house, unknown persons fired several times from a revolver.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In August of the same year, in Kyiv and Vasylkiv, officers of local branches of the organization &#8220;Patriot of Ukraine&#8221; were arrested in a case known as &#8220;Vasylkiv terrorists&#8221;. <strong>Biletsky himself was arrested on December 27 in the case of the &#8220;defenders of Rymarska&#8221;<\/strong> and was in custody in the Kharkiv pre-trial detention center until February 2014. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On February 24, 2014, the Rada adopted a resolution on the release of political prisoners, as a result of which Biletsky was released. After his release, he immediately <strong>joined the protests on the Maidan<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In November 2013, during the events of Euromaidan, activists of the organization &#8220;Patriot of Ukraine&#8221;, together with other nationalist movements, <strong>became the basis for the formation of the newly created <a href=\"\/?tag=pravyy-sektor\">&#8220;Right Sector&#8221;.<\/a><\/strong> In March 2014,<strong> Biletsky was appointed head of the Right Sector East power bloc<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the spring of 2014, Biletskyi created the basis of the Azov volunteer battalion. The unit arose on the basis of a formation known as the &#8220;Black Corps&#8221;, which in March and April of the same year operated in eastern Ukraine, resisting the appearance of the so-called &#8220;green men&#8221;. In September of the same year, the <a href=\"\/?tag=azov\">Azov<\/a> battalion was expanded into a regiment, and <strong>Biletsky became its commander<\/strong>. At the beginning of 2016, the regiment&#8217;s area of responsibility was defined as the southeast of the Donetsk region, in particular Mariupol, where Azov performed defensive tasks.   <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2023, he became the commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In March 2025, it became known about the creation of the 3rd Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of the reform of the command structure in the army. This corps was headed by Biletsky. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Political Activities  <\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2014, during the early parliamentary elections, <strong>Biletsky was elected a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the VIII convocation<\/strong>. He ran as an independent candidate in Kyiv. At the time of his election, he held the position of commander of the Azov Special Police Patrol Regiment in the structure of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine in the Kyiv region.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the parliament, he worked as a non-factional deputy and served as deputy chairman of the Committee on National Security and Defense.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">At the end of 2016, <strong>he headed the newly created political party &#8220;National Corps&#8221;.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Marital Status<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2003, he married Yulia Biletskaya. In 2007, the couple had a son, Alexander. In 2016, Andriy and Yulia divorced.    <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Since 2022, he has been married to Tetiana Danylenko.
