Oleksandr Fedorovich Sienkevych – Mayor of Mykolaiv (2015 – present).
Place of Birth, Education
Sienkevych was born on February 4, 1982 in the city of Mykolaiv.
He received his higher education at the Mykolaiv State University named after Petro Mohyla, which he graduated in 2004.
Subsequently, he studied at the Institute of Applied Systems Analysis of the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, completing his studies in 2007.
He has a PhD in Economics.
Career
In 2002, he began teaching at the Mykolaiv branch of the Shag Computer Academy.
During 2005 – 2015, he worked in the limited liability company (LLC) “Quadrologist”, where he worked his way up from a software engineer to the director of the enterprise.
In 2014, he founded the public organization (NGO) “Voice of the Community”.
He was also among the founders of Blink Reaction Ukraine and Blink Action International, whose activities related to the field of computer programming. Subsequently, he transferred corporate rights to the enterprises to his wife.
Political Activities
In 2015, Sienkevych was elected mayor of Mykolaiv. He ran for the Samopomich Union political party and won 21.1% of the vote in the first round, taking second place, and in the second round he received the support of 33.8% of voters.
In the same year, he was also a candidate for city council deputy from the same political force. At the same time, he headed the city organization “Samopomich” in Mykolaiv. In 2018, he left the ranks of the party.
In the fall of 2017, the Mykolaiv City Council decided to terminate his powers early and dismissed him from the post of mayor. However, in the spring of 2018, he was reinstated in accordance with a court decision.
In 2020, he became a member of the main council of the Proposition party. From the political force, he ran in the repeated elections of the mayor of Mykolaiv and won in the first round, gaining 38.94% in the first and 59.74% in the second round of voting.
Marital Status
He is married to Kateryna Sienkevych. The couple has a daughter, Maria, and a son, Maksym.
