Oleksandr Anatolyevich Kachura – lawyer, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on August 18, 1990 in Konotop, Sumy region.
In 2012, he graduated from the International University of Finance with a degree in International Management Management. The following year, he graduated with honors from the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, where he studied law.
In 2015, he completed his studies at the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, receiving a degree in Political Science.
In 2016, he defended his dissertation and received a PhD in Law at the Research Institute of Informatics and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
Career
He worked as a leading specialist, lawyer and assistant attorney in various law firms.
Since 2012, he has been engaged in private law practice in Kyiv.
In 2017, he founded the Kachura Lawyers law firm. He was a lawyer for the Servant of the People party and the Kvartal 95 company. His law firm represented the interests of singer Oleh Vynnyk, RS music, businessman and mayor of Glukhiv Michel Tereshchenko, ex-Minister of Defense Anatoliy Hrytsenko and others.
In March 2019, Kachura Lawyers won a court case to ban the series “Matchmakers”, protecting the interests of the Kvartal 95 Studio.
He is also a member of the Public Council at the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine and is a member of the expert council of the Verkhovna Rada, which amends the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Political Activities
During the 2019 parliamentary elections , he was elected a people’s deputy of Ukraine, running from the “Servant of the People” at number 49 on the electoral list.
On August 29 of the same year, he took the position of Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on the Organization of State Power, Local Self-Government, Regional Development and Urban Planning. He also became a deputy member of the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
On December 12, 2019, he joined the inter-factional association “Humane Country”, which was created on the initiative of the animal protection organization UAnimals to support humanistic values and protect animals from cruelty.
He is a member of the expert council of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, which is engaged in the development of amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Marital Status
He is married to Kateryna Kachura. The couple has a daughter, Zlata.
