Nina Petrivna Yuzhanina is a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII and IX convocations.
Place of Birth, Education
She was born on January 11, 1965 in the village of Zgurivka, Kyiv region.
After graduating from school, she entered Khmelnytskyi National University, where in 1978 she received a diploma in “Accounting, Control and Analysis of Economic Activity”.
Career
From 1983 to 2003, she was an accountant and economist at various enterprises. She headed the audit department in the district department of the State Tax Administration of Ukraine in the Kyiv region, and also worked in the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.
In 2003, she founded her own business – the European Audit Group, which she headed until 2014. In addition, she was Petro Poroshenko’s auditor, and also managed the activities of the Express-Inform TV company, which is a co-founder of Channel 5.
Political Activities
In 2014, Yuzhanina became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, winning a mandate on the list of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party. In the parliament of the VIII convocation, she headed the Committee on Tax and Customs Policy.
In the 2019 elections, she again won a seat in the Verkhovna Rada, this time from the European Solidarity party. In the new composition of the parliament, she became a member of the finance committee of the parliament.
Scandals
In 2017, Yuzhanina took part in the Energy Security Forum held in Monaco. During the event, she was recorded in a joint photo with former Minister of Ecology Mykola Zlochevskyi, who left Ukraine after the events of Euromaidan.
In the same year, journalists Bihus.Info published an article stating that the agricultural holding “Myronivskyi Hliboproduct” (“MHP”) received almost one billion hryvnias from the state budget. This became possible after the abolition of the restriction on receiving subsidies for agricultural enterprises, which was initiated by Yuzhanina.
During the 2019 election campaign, she was responsible for the production of billboards and printed campaign materials depicting presidential candidate Poroshenko next to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
Marital Status
She is married to Vladimir Yuzhanin. The couple has a son, Yevhen.
