Artem Dmytruk is a People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on June 28, 1993 in the city of Kozyatyn, Vinnytsia region.
He received higher education at the National University “Odessa Law Academy” with a degree in Jurisprudence.
Career
At different times, he was engaged in entrepreneurial activities, worked as a loader and security guard.
He is the owner of the Barbell Barbell gym and Baza fitness club chain.
He is also among the founders of the public organization “I am a resident of Odesa – I care” and is a member of the public association “Ilya Muromets”. He has the title of master of sports of international class in powerlifting.
Political Activities
During 2019, he became a people’s deputy of Ukraine, winning a mandate in the Verkhovna Rada in the 133rd constituency. He was nominated from the political party “Servant of the People”, although at the time of his election he did not belong to any political force. Later, he joined a political force. In parliament, he worked in the committee dealing with law enforcement.
In November 2021, he was expelled from the Servant of the People faction after he gave an interview to blogger Anatoliy Shariy, who was suspected of treason at the time. In addition, he took part in the filming of the propagandist’s film dedicated to the events that took place in Odesa in 2014.
He spoke in support of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate during the consideration of its ban due to ties with the Russian Federation (RF). In addition, he voiced provocative statements in favor of the use of the Russian language in Ukraine.
Criminal case
In 2023, Dmytruk, together with MP Oleksandr Kunitskyi, was accused of beating a man in the center of Kyiv. Due to this incident, the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine initiated criminal proceedings.
On August 25, 2024, he was charged with assaulting a law enforcement officer in Odesa and attempting to seize his weapon. Dmytruk himself called this case falsified. On the same day, the Prosecutor General’s Office initiated an investigation into his possible organization of illegal crossing of the state border.
As Ukrainska Pravda wrote, on August 24, the parliamentarian allegedly illegally left Ukraine. On August 29, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) put him on the international wanted list.
Marital Status
He is married to Anastasia Dmytruk. The couple has a son, Ivan, and a daughter, Varvara.
