He was born on March 12, 1976 in the village of Salne, Chernihiv region.

Career
In 2003, he opened a sole proprietorship, the main direction of which was consulting activities in the field of commercial management and entrepreneurship.
At different periods of his career, he headed the limited liability company (LLC) “Guild of Law”, as well as the supervisory board of the charitable organization “Guild of Goodness”.
In addition, he acted as the ultimate owner of the Inter-Profit company.
Currently, he manages the NGO “Pravozashchist Plus”.
Political Activities
In 2015, he tried to win the mandate of a deputy of the Kyiv Regional Council, running for the political party “Our Land”, but without success.
Four years later, he tried to get into the Verkhovna Rada, being nominated as a candidate from the All-Ukrainian Union (VO) “Batkivshchyna” in the 209th constituency of the Chernihiv region. However, this attempt was also unsuccessful. During the election campaign, concerts were held with the participation of various performers, and observers recorded attempts to bribe voters.
In 2020, he won the by-elections to the parliament. He ran for the Servant of the People party. Zokerma joined the faction.
After Gunko was suspected of involvement in corrupt acts, he was expelled from the faction in 2023.
In December of the same year, he joined the deputy association “Restoration of Ukraine”, which arose after the suspension of the activities of the political force “Opposition Platform – For Life”.
Scandals and criminal cases
In 2013, there were reports in the media about Gunko’s possible involvement in the illegal distribution of land plots in the city of Brovary, Kyiv region. Five years later, during a briefing, law enforcement agencies accused the entrepreneur of illegally appropriating more than 115 hectares of land, the market value of which was estimated at 120 million hryvnias. These territories belonged to the state enterprise “Radio Transmission Center”. However, in 2019, the case was closed due to lack of sufficient evidence, and in 2020, the court ordered Gunka to compensate 2 million hryvnias for moral damage.
In August 2022, the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption drew up an administrative protocol against Hunko. The reason was that he accepted a gift from his assistant – a wristwatch of the Swiss brand Breguet, the cost of which exceeded 10 thousand US dollars.
In the spring of 2023, the court found the businessman guilty of violating the law on the prevention and settlement of conflicts of interest. He prepared a deputy appeal aimed at protecting his own interests, and also contained direct instructions to the pre-trial investigation authorities.
In August 2023, Gunka was declared a suspect for receiving an improper benefit. The investigation established that the MP promised the businessman to assist in leasing land plots that belonged to the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences. The total amount of the bribe was supposed to be 221 thousand dollars. The politician and his accomplices were detained while receiving the first part of the funds in the amount of 85 thousand dollars.
In March 2025, the people’s deputy was found guilty in this case and received seven years in prison.
Marital Status
He is married to Natalia Gunko, who in 2015 entered the Kyiv Regional Council from the “Radical Party of Oleh Lyashko”, and in 2020 – from the “Servant of the People”. In particular, from 2021 to 2023, she headed the regional council.
The couple has a son, Konstantin and a daughter, Kateryna.
