Yulia Svyrydenko

Yuliia Anatoliivna Svyrydenko – First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine (2020), Deputy Head of the Office of the President (2020 – 2021), Minister of Economy of Ukraine (November 2021 – July 2025), Prime Minister of Ukraine (July 2025 – current time).

Place of Birth, Education

She was born on December 25, 1985 in Chernihiv.

In 2008, Svyrydenko graduated with honors from the Kyiv National University of Trade and Economics (KNUTE), receiving a master’s degree in Management in the field of antimonopoly activities. In the same year, she entered the postgraduate course of KNUTE in the direction of “Economics and Management of the National Economy”.

Career

Svyrydenko began her professional career in 2008, taking the position of financial economist in the Ukrainian-Andorran joint venture of the joint stock company (JSC) “AMP” in Kyiv.

Later she worked as an appraiser at the Chernihiv Intercity Bureau of Technical Inventory. She also held the position of deputy director of the limited liability company (LLC) “Eco-Vtor” in Kyiv.

In 2011, she was appointed Head of the Permanent Mission of the city of Chernihiv in the city of Wuxi, People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Since May 2015, she has held the position of adviser to the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration (RSA) Valeriy Kulych. In August of the same year, she headed the Department of Economic Development of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration (RSA).

In September 2017, she began her duties as the first deputy head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration. On March 14, 2018, she was officially appointed to this position. In the period from July 30 to November 28, 2018, she served as the head of the Chernihiv Regional State Administration.

From March to September 2019, she worked as the director of Sidco Ukraine LLC.

In September 2019, she was appointed Deputy Minister, and since July 2020, she has held the position of First Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.

In the same year, she was elected chairman of the board of the Fund of Compulsory State Social Insurance of Ukraine in case of unemployment. She also became a member of the delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) as a representative in the working subgroup on socio-economic issues.

On December 21, 2020, she voluntarily resigned from the post of First Deputy Minister of Economy.

From December 22, 2020 to November 2021, she served as Deputy Head of the Office of the President (OP) of Ukraine, replacing Yulia Kovaliv.

On February 26, 2021, by decree of the President of Ukraine, she was excluded from the Ukrainian delegation to participate in the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG).

On May 31, 2021, Svyrydenko was elected as a representative of the state to the supervisory board of the National Joint Stock Company Naftogaz of Ukraine.

On November 4, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada appointed her to the post of Minister of Economy, replacing Oleksiy Lyubchenko.

And on July 17, 2025, the parliament supported her candidacy for the post of Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Divorced. Ex-husband – Serhiy Derlemenko.
