Rostislav Shurma

Rostyslav Shurma – Deputy Head of the Office of the President (2021 – 2024).

Place of Birth, Education

He was born on September 17, 1983 in Lviv.

He graduated from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, where he studied economics and entrepreneurship.

Later he completed his studies at the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman. In addition, he studied at the Moscow School of Management “Skolkovo”, where he gained additional knowledge in the field of management.

Career

From 2003 to 2005, Shurma worked as a financial manager at Procter and Gamble Eastern Europe, and from 2005 to 2006 he served as a consultant at the international consulting company Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

Since 2006, he began his career in the Metinvest group. He was engaged in the development of strategies and management of financial flows, holding the positions of Head of Strategy and Financial Director of the Makiivka Metallurgical Plant. Later, he became Deputy Director of the Metallurgical Division of Metinvest.

Shurma was also a member of the supervisory board of the Mariupol Metallurgical Plant, headed the supervisory board of the Promet plant in Bulgaria and was a member of the board of directors of the Italian company Metinvest-Trametal.

From July 30, 2012 to November 25, 2019, he held the position of General Director of Zaporizhstal Public Joint Stock Company.

On May 21, 2021, he was appointed a member of the Supervisory Board of the State Concern Ukroboronprom. He joined the supervision of the reform of the country’s military-industrial complex.

On November 23, 2021, he took the post of Deputy Head of the President’s Office. On September 3, 2024, he was released.

Political Activities

On April 17, 2015, Shurma was elected head of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the political party “Opposition Bloc”.

In the 2019 parliamentary elections, he ran for the Verkhovna Rada from the above-mentioned party.

On February 17, 2020, the political council of the Zaporizhzhia regional organization of the “Opposition Bloc” satisfied Shurma’s application to resign as head of the organization.

Marital Status

Married. He has a son and two daughters.
