Mykola Tarasovych Solskyi – Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine (2022-2024), People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation from the Servant of the People party.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on May 22, 1979 in the village of Rosokhy, Stary Sambir district, Lviv region.
From 1995 to 2000 he studied at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv at the Faculty of Law. He received the qualification of a lawyer.
Career
In the period from March 2000 to November 2001, he worked as a legal adviser in the closed joint stock company (CJSC) “Enzym”.
From November 2001 to January 2003, he held the position of legal adviser in the limited liability company (LLC) “Law Firm “Dopomoga. Yefimov, Temnenko Partners”.
From February 2003 to January 2014, he was a partner and general director at Solskyi, Protsyk Partners Law Firm LLC.
Since 2007, hehas been a co-founder of the Ukrainian Agrarian Holding.
Political Career
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, Solskyi ran for People’s Deputies of Ukraine from the Servant of the People party. On July 21, 2019, he was elected a people’s deputy to the Verkhovna Rada.
On August 29 of the same year, he was elected Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy in the IX convocation.
On March 24, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada dismissed Roman Leshchenko from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and appointed Solskyi to this position. He held the position until May 9, 2024.
Criminal cases
On April 3, 2024, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), together with the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), notified Solskyi of suspicion of embezzlement of state land worth UAH 291 million and an attempt to seize another plot worth UAH 190 million.
On April 25, Solskyi submitted a letter of resignation from the post of Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada.
On April 26, 2024, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) decided to choose a measure of restraint for Solskyi in the form of detention for a period of 60 days. At the same time, the court allowed the possibility of making a bail in the amount of 25,000 subsistence minimums, which amounted to UAH 75.7 million. On the same day, Solsky was released on bail.

Married. She is raising a daughter and two sons.
