Taras Berezovets is a journalist, political strategist, director of the personal and strategic consulting company Berta Communications, a member of the UK-Ukraine Partnership Network (2004) and the Independent Media Trade Union of Ukraine (2006).
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on March 1, 1975 in Kerch.
He received his higher education at the Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv at the Faculty of Journalism.
He also studied in:
- Royal College of Defence Studies in London;
- King’s College London – MA in International Studies, where he received a master’s degree in international relations.
Career
In the period from 1997 to 1998, he served as press secretary of the permanent representative of President Leonid Kuchma in the Verkhovna Rada Roman Bezsmertny.
During 1998-1999, he worked as a senior consultant at the National Institute of Ukrainian-Russian Relations, which operated under the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC).
In 1999–2002 and 2004–2005, he held the positions of chief consultant and state expert in the Foreign Security Department of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
Also, from 2000 to 2002, he was a member of the interagency group, which included secretaries of the security councils of Ukraine, the Russian Federation (RF), Poland and Belarus.
In the period from 2005 to 2007, he worked as directorof the political consulting department at Martin Group. In particular, since 2006, he has held the position of editor-in-chief of the analytical project “Polittech”. In 2007-2010, he led the PR group of the project.
Since 2010, he has headed the strategic consulting company Berta Communications.
In July 2015, he became the head of the public organization (NGO) “Foundation for National Strategies”.
In May 2016, together with five other leading politicians and experts, he co-founded the think tank Ukrainian Institute for the Future.
In June 2017, he began working as a presenter on the Direct TV channel. He is the author and host of the daily program “The Situation”, as well as a joint project The Week with American expert Peter Zalmaev.
