Gennadiy Vladyslavovich Butkevych is a Ukrainian businessman, co-owner of the ATB-Market supermarket chain.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on May 27, 1958 in the city of Dnipro.
He received his higher education in two institutions:
- Dnipropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute;
- Oles Honchar Dnipropetrovsk National University.
Career and political activity
In 1991, he headed the department that dealt with the fight against organized crime in the city of Dnepropetrovsk (now Dnipro). After some time, he started his own entrepreneurial activity, opening a small café. In 1993, he became a co-owner of a trading company called “Agrotechbusiness”.
For two years, from 1995 to 1997, he worked as the head of the security service at the United Energy Systems of Ukraine company. With the funds earned in this company, he built a meat processing plant.
In 1998, together with partners, he founded the company “ATB-Market”. The name of the company is an abbreviation for “Agrotechbusiness”.
From 2006 to 2012, he worked as an assistant to the People’s Deputy from the Party of Regions Yuriy Samoilenko in the Verkhovna Rada of the V, VI and VII convocations.
In 2015, he became the founder of an investment company called BGV Group Management. Its main activity is the development of businesses and projects in the fields of mining, processing, energy efficiency, retail and development.
Assets
Butkevych is one of the co-owners of the ATB supermarket chain, sharing this business with partners Yevhen Yermakov and Viktor Karachun. He also fully owns the investment company BGV Group Management.
In addition, he is the president of the football club “Polissia”.
In 2023, the publication “NV. Business” estimated his fortune at 259 million US dollars, which allowed him to take 22nd place in the ranking of the richest citizens of Ukraine.
Marital Status
He is married to Valentina Butkevych. The couple has two daughters: Anna and Daryna.
