Yaroslava Alekseevna Mahuchikh is a Ukrainian track and field athlete who specializes in high jump.

She was born on September 19, 2001 in Dnipro.
As a child, she practiced karate, but later chose athletics. At first, I tried myself in hurdles, long and high jumps.
Also, until 2015-2016, she was engaged in drawing and participated in competitions. After that, she still focused on athletics.
Career
2018 – 2020
In July 2018, Mahuchikh won the high jump at the European Youth Championships in Győr, Hungary. First, she overcame 1.86 m, and on the third attempt she took a height of 1.94 m.
On May 3, 2019, the athlete won the Diamond League stage in Doha, setting a personal best of 1.96 m. She also became the youngest winner in the history of the tournament.
At the stage in Eugene, the Ukrainian took a height of 2.00 m and took 3rd place. In particular, she became the youngest athlete who managed to overcome this mark.
At the World Championships, Mahuchikh won a silver medal, setting a world record among juniors – 2.04 m.
2020 – 2022
On January 18, 2020, at the competitions in Lviv, Mahuchikh set a world record among juniors indoors – 2.01 m. With this result, she also repeated the national record among adults.
On January 31, at the tournament in Karlsruhe, the athlete improved her own record to 2.02 m. This result simultaneously became a new Ukrainian indoor record.
According to the results of the 2020 World Indoor Tour, Mahuchikh took 1st place in the overall standings among high jumpers.
On August 14, at the Diamond League stage in Monaco, she won with a result of 1.98 m, ahead of Yulia Levchenko in terms of the number of attempts.
At the “Irena Szewińska Memorial” in Poland, Mahuchich became 2nd with a result of 1.97 m.
On January 9, 2021, at the Christmas Starts, Mahuchikh repeated the national indoor record – 2.02 m.
On February 2, at the tournament in Banská Bystrica, she won with a result of 2.06 m, which became a new world record among juniors indoors and an absolute record for Ukraine.
The European Athletics Association, in turn, recognized Mahuchikh as the best female athlete in Europe in January.
On July 4, the Ukrainian won the Diamond League stage in Stockholm with a result of 2.03 m, and on July 10 she won the European Youth Championships in Tallinn, setting a tournament record of 2.00 m.
On August 7, 2021, in the final of the Olympic Games in Tokyo, Mahuchikh won a bronze medal with a result of 2.00 m.
After the competition, she was photographed with Russian Maria Lasitskene, which caused criticism in Ukraine. At that time, Mahuchikh was a junior sergeant of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Lasitskene was a captain of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
After the start of the full-scale invasion of Russia , Mahuchikh said that she regretted this photo.
2022 – 2024
In March 2022, Mahuchikh won the World Indoor Championships in Belgrade, Serbia with a result of 2.02 m.
At the World Championships in Oregon, she won silver, also overcoming 2.02 m, but lost to Eleanor Patterson in the number of attempts.
On August 21, the athlete became the European champion in Munich with a result of 1.95 m.
In September of the same year, she won the Diamond League stage in Brussels, taking 2.05 m.
On February 14, 2023, Mahuchich won the World Athletics Indoor Series Silver Tour tournament in Banská Bystrica with a result of 1.97 m, her 6th consecutive victory since the beginning of the year.
At the end of August in Budapest, the athlete became world champion for the first time, taking a height of 2.01 m.
In September, she won the Diamond League final with a score of 2.03m, which was the best in the world that season.
2024 – 2026
In June 2024, Mahuchikh defended her European title at the competition in Rome.
On July 7, at the Diamond League stage in Paris, she set a world record, overcoming 2.10 m on the first attempt.
On August 4, the Ukrainian became the Olympic champion in Paris. In the final, she took a height of 2.00 m.
On March 9, 2025, the athlete became the European indoor champion in Apeldoorn, overcoming a height of 1.99 m.
On May 3, she won the Diamond League stage in Shanghai with a result of 2.00 m, taking this height on the first attempt.
2026 – tep. Time
On March 20, 2026, Mahuchikh won the World Indoor Athletics Championships with a result of 2.01 m.
This victory brought her the 4th gold medal at the World Indoor Championships and made her the most titled Ukrainian in the history of these competitions.
