Career
Olympic Games 2016
During the Olympic Games, Stevenson defeated Robenilson de Jesus from Brazil in the 1/8 finals – 3:0. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Erdenebatin Tsendbaatar from Mongolia with the same score.
Vladimir Nikitin passed in the semifinals, and in the final fight he lost to Cuban Robeisa Ramirez – 1:2.
WSB Semi-Professional League
In the semi-professional league, the WSB won 2 victories. On January 21, 2016, he defeated Peter McGrail as part of the British Lionhearts, and on February 19, he defeated Hamut Mohammed as part of the Morocco Atlas Lions.
Professional career
On February 9, 2017, Stevensonsigned with the promotional company Top Rank. He also began cooperation with boxer Andre Ward.
On October 26, 2019, in his 13th fight at the professional level, Stevenson defeated American Joet Gonzalez by unanimous decision and won the vacant WBO featherweight world title.
The first defense of the belt was scheduled for March 14, 2020 in New York against Miguel Marriaga. But the day before the fight, on March 13, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the state authorities banned mass events, and the fight was canceled.
In July, Stevenson informed the WBO that he could no longer compete in featherweight, after which he officially vacated the championship title.
On June 9, 2020, he returned to the ring after a 3-month hiatus. The boxing evening took place at the MGM Grand Ballroom in Las Vegas. In the main fight in the second featherweight, he faced Puerto Rican Felix Caraballo. The fight ended with Stevenson’s victory by knockout in the 6th round.
On June 12, 2021, in Las Vegas, the boxer defeated Namibian Jeremiah Nakatyla by unanimous decision and won the WBO interim featherweight title.
Already in October, he defeated Jamel Herring ahead of schedule and took away from him the full-fledged WBO featherweight title.
On April 30, 2022, Stevenson had a unification fight with WBC champion Oscar Valdez. He won on points and inflicted the first defeat in his professional career on his opponent.
On November 16, 2023, the boxer defeated Edwin De Los Santos by unanimous decision and won the vacant WBC lightweight world title, becoming the champion in the third weight category.
From 2024 to 2026, Stevenson had several title fights and retained his status as undefeated.
On July 6, 2024, in Newark, by unanimous decision, he defeated Artem Harutyunyan from Armenia and defended the WBC lightweight title, and a year later, on February 22, he ended the fight with Briton Josh Pedley by technical knockout, again defending the WBC belt.
On July 12, 2025 in New York, he defeated Mexican William Zepeda on points and defended the WBC lightweight world title for the second time in a row.
January 31, 2026-gr at Madison Square Garden Stevenson defeated Teofimo Lopez by unanimous decision. This victory earned him the WBO and The Ring welterweight world titles.
