Sofia Fedyna is a singer, TV presenter, People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation.
Place of Birth, Education
She was born on February 18, 1984 in Lviv.
She received her higher education at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, where she studied international relations.
She also studied at the International Summer School at the University of Vienna and participated in the Polish government’s scholarship program at the Center for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw.
He has a PhD in Political Science.
Career
In 2001 – 2005 she was a member of the youth public organization “Young Diplomacy”.
From 2002 to 2005, she held the position of Deputy Head of the Lviv Regional Representative Office of the international youth organization “European Youth Parliament”. During this period, she participated in meetings of the United Council of World Youth in Oxford.
In 2006, she joined the International Association of Young Political Scientists.
For several months in 2010, she was the author and host of the political and analytical program “View from the High Castle”.
During the events of Euromaidan in 2013-2014, she led rallies in Lviv, and later was engaged in volunteer activities in the area of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO).
She is a member of the Presidium of the World Federation of Ukrainian Lemko Associations. She works as an associate professor at the Department of International Relations and Diplomatic Service of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv.
Political Activities
At the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation, she received the mandate of a people’s deputy of Ukraine. She went to parliament on the list of the European Solidarity party.
In the Verkhovna Rada, she joined the Committee on Humanitarian and Information Policy.
Criminal case
In 2019, the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine opened a criminal case against Fedyna because of her statements against President Volodymyr Zelensky. The reason was a stream in which she, together with Marusya Zvirobiy, commented on the president’s communication with the military on the front line. During the discussion, there were suggestions that the president may “suddenly die” in Donbas as a result of “grenade explosions” or “shelling”. The Servant of the People regarded these words as a “threat” and “calls for rebellion.”
Subsequently, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) announced Fedyna’s suspicion of threatening to kill the president. The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv chose a measure of restraint for her in the form of a personal obligation, but a few months later the investigation was completed, and the court did not extend the restriction.

Unmarried.
In 2023, she gave birth to a son from a special forces soldier named Oleg.
