Place of Birth, Education
He was born on April 17, 1971 in the village of Krupianske, Chernivtsi region.
He received his education at the Chernivtsi Mechanical and Technological College, where in 1990 he completed his studies in mechanics.
In 1995, he received a bachelor’s degree in History at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, and in 2009, at the same institution, he completed his master’s degree in Civil Service.
Career
After completing his bachelor’s studies, he worked for several months in the criminal police department dealing with juvenile cases in one of the district departments of the city of Chernivtsi. During this time , he received a special rank of police lieutenant.
Also in 1995, he began his professional career in the field of journalism. At different times, he held a number of positions, including working as a sports columnist in the publication “Nova Bukovynska Gazeta” and as a journalist in the newspaper “Young Bukovinets”. He also became the founder and publisher of the sports and entertainment publication “Super!”, broadcast on the TV channel “Chernivtsi” and founded the regional media Fakty. In addition, he headed the limited liability company (LLC) “Information Agency “Chernivtsi-Info”.
In 1996, he was a specialist in one of the divisions of the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration. At the same time, he taught physical education at the Chernivtsi Construction College.
During 2005-2008, he headed the Department of Physical Culture and Sports in the Chernivtsi Regional State Administration.
From 2011 to 2019, he served as director of the Chernivtsi Regional Center for Physical Health of the Population “Sport for All”.
Also, in the period from 2014 to 2018, he was a member of the executive committee of the Chernivtsi Regional Branch of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.
Political Activities
During the local elections held in 2015, he ran for the Chernivtsi Regional Council as a candidate from the Samopomich Union political party. He was nominated in constituency No. 64, but without success.
In 2019, he became a people’s deputy of Ukraine, winning the elections to the Verkhovna Rada in the single-mandate constituency No. 203 in the Chernivtsi region. He was nominated from the Servant of the People party.
In February 2024, he announced his withdrawal from the party, but remained part of the parliamentary faction.
Marital Status
He is married to Olga Mazurash.
The couple has three sons: Yuri, Vasyl and Stepan.
