Andriy Mykhailovych Gerus – People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the IX convocation, representative of the President of Ukraine in the Cabinet of Ministers (2019), head of the Association of Energy and Utilities Consumers.
Place of Birth, Education
He was born on March 18, 1982 in the city of Novovolynsk, Volyn region, in a family of miners.
In 2004, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics of Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, with a degree in Economic Cybernetics.
From 2013 to 2015, he studied at the Grenoble Graduate School of Business in London, where he received a degree in Business Project Management (MBA).
Career
In the period from 2003 to 2007, he worked at the Galnaftogaz concern, first as an analyst of investment activities, and later held the position of director of trade and investment activities.
From 2007 to 2014, he held the position of Investment Director at Concorde Capital, where he was engaged in investment and wealth management.
In 2014 – 2015, he worked at the National Energy and Utilities Regulatory Commission (NEURC).
In 2015, he returned to Concorde Capital, where he became an executive director, and since 2017 he has been the head of the Association of Energy and Utilities Consumers.
Political Activities
In 2015, Gerus participated in the elections to the Kyiv City Council from the Samopomich party, but without success.
In 2019, he became part of the team of presidential candidate Volodymyr Zelensky. He was responsible for energy, housing and communal services and antimonopoly regulation.
On May 22, 2019, the President appointed Gerus as his representative in the Cabinet of Ministers.
In the 2019 parliamentary elections, he ran for the Servant of the People party at number 17 on the party list and won a deputy mandate. In the Verkhovna Rada of the IX convocation, the Committee on Energy, Housing and Communal Services was headed.
On November 11, 2019, Zelensky signed a decree dismissing Gerus from the post of his representative in the Cabinet of Ministers.
Marital Status
He is married to Natalia Gerus. The couple has two daughters.
