Borislav Bereza

Boryslav Yefimovych Bereza – People’s Deputy of Ukraine of the VIII convocation, head of the information department of the “Right Sector” (2014).

Place of Birth, Education

He was born on June 13, 1974 in Kyiv.

He received higher education at the Kyiv University of Trade and Economics.

Career

He was engaged in consulting in the field of international business.

Later, he began his activities in the field of book publishing and the sale of literature. He founded his own literary agency.

He was the host of television programs, such as “Book UA” and “Mandry”, which were broadcast on the First National TV Channel of Ukraine. In addition, he worked at Prosto Radio, where he hosted an evening show called “Full Paragraph with Boryslav Bereza”.

He gained wide recognition thanks to his work in the information department of the socio-political movement “Right Sector”, where he first held the position of head, and later became the official representative of this organization.

On December 25, 2014, it became known that Bereza left the post of head of the information policy of the Right Sector movement due to significant involvement in political and law-making activities and stopped cooperation.

Political Activities

During the early elections to the Verkhovna Rada, which took place in October 2014, he was elected a people’s deputy of Ukraine. He won in the majoritarian constituency No. 213 in Kyiv, receiving 29.44% of the vote as an independent candidate. He was also a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE).

In the local elections held on October 25, 2015, he ran for the post of mayor of the capital from the “Party of Resolute Communities”, of which he was a member. In the first round, he received 8.84% of the votes and reached the second round, where his rival was the incumbent mayor of Kyiv, Vitali Klitschko, who received more than 40% of the vote. In the second round, Bereza lost to his opponent, gaining the support of 32.30% of voters.

Marital Status

He is married and has two sons and a daughter.
