Oleksiy Zozulya

Oleksiy Vladimirovich Zozulya is a Ukrainian football player, right-back.

He was born on April 15, 1992 in Kyiv.

Career

Zozulya is a pupil of Dynamo Kyiv.

After completing his studies in 2010, he signed a contract with Zaporizhzhia Metalurh. During this period, he played for Metallurg-2, where he played 22 matches and scored 1 goal in the Second League, as well as for the youth squad – 21 matches in the U-21 championship.

In March 2012, he signed an agreement with the First League club Poltava. At the beginning, he rarely appeared in the main squad, and spent part of the 2012/13 season in the farm club “Poltava-2-Karlivka”.

Starting from the 2013/14 season, Zozulya gained a foothold in the base and became one of the main defenders of the team. In total, as part of the Poltava club, he played 77 matches in the First League, scoring 4 goals, and also played 22 matches in the national cup.

In 2013, as part of the student national team of Ukraine, he took part in the football tournament of the Universiade in Kazan. According to the results of the competition, the Ukrainian team reached the quarterfinals.

During the next year, he played 2 matches for the youth national team of Ukraine under 21.

In January 2016, he signed a contract with Uzhhorod Hoverla, which played in the Premier League, but on April 11 he joined Rivne Veres.

In the summer of 2017, he moved to Kolos from Kovalivka. In the new team, he quickly became the main defensive player.

On July 30, 2019, he made his Premier League debut in a match against Mariupol, which ended in a 2-1 victory.

In January 2021, Zozulya signed a new contract with Kolos for a period of 1.5 years. At the same time, in mid-December, the club announced the termination of the agreement with the player by mutual consent of the parties.

In the summer of 2021, the footballer moved to Lviv on a one-year loan, where he played as a right-back. Before the early end of the championship due to the Russian full-scale invasion, he managed to play 12 matches in the Premier League.

After returning to Kolos, he lost his stable place in the main squad and took to the field infrequently. In the 2022/23 season, he played 7 matches for the Kovalivka club. After the end of the contract, the parties decided not to continue cooperation.

In August 2023, he signed an agreement with Sumy Viktoria, which played in the First League. In the first part of the 2023/24 season, the defender played 12 matches in all competitions, after which the club announced the termination of cooperation by mutual consent. The second part of the season he played in the second league “Druzhba” from Myrovka. Together with the team, he became the winner of the Second League of the 2023/24 season, after which the club stopped playing.

In August 2024, Zozulya joined YUKSA, which played in the First League. In the 2024/25 season, he played 15 matches in the league and 3 more matches in the Ukrainian Cup.

In May 2025, at the age of 33, the footballer ended his playing career.
