Igor Vladimirovich Kostyuk is a Ukrainian football coach and former football player.

He was born on September 14, 1975 in Kyiv.
In childhood, he tried himself in various sports – he was engaged in figure skating, dancing, handball and wrestling, but in the end it was football that became the main direction for him.
He took his first steps in the Lokomotiv children’s team. During one of the tournaments, the footballer was noticed by the coach of the Dynamo Sports School Oleksandr Shpakov and invited to watch.
At that time, a strong squad had already formed at the Dynamo school, in which Andriy Shevchenko, Vyacheslav Kernozenko, Oleksandr Holokolosov, Vitaliy Brunko, Maksym Pavlenko and others played. Despite the competition, Kostyuk eventually gained a foothold among them.
Career
He made his debut for Dynamo-2 before reaching the age of 18. Starting from the 1993/1994 season, he played steadily as part of the reserve.
On April 13, 1996, Kostyuk played for the first time for the main squad of Dynamo Kyiv in the match against Shakhtar Donetsk, spending all 90 minutes on the field. A few weeks later, he scored his first goal against Chornomorets. On the eve of Valeriy Lobanovskyi’s return to the club, the footballer was injured – he broke his ankle in a match for Dynamo-2.
When the prospects of returning to the main squad of Dynamo became minimal, Kostyuk, together with Viktor Leonenko and Anatoliy Bezsmertnyi, moved to FC Tyumen. After several matches for the Russian club, he returned to Ukraine and accepted the offer of Vorskla Poltava.
In Poltava, he was one of the main players of the team, around whom the game was built. It was during this period that he received a call-up to the national team.
In the spring of 2000, he rejoined Dynamo, but in the second part of the championship he played only 5 matches. After that, he agreed with the club’s management on loan to Vorskla. However, the second return to the Poltava club was unsuccessful. In a friendly match, Kostyuk suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
After a short period as part of Uzhhorod Zakarpattia and restoring his form at Dynamo-2, Kostyuk moved to Arsenal Kyiv. At the same time, he mostly played for the farm club – Boryspil “Borysfen”. At that time, there was information about interest from Metalist Kharkiv, but the matter was limited to viewing.
Only in the 2004/2005 season, Kostyuk gained a foothold in the main squad of Arsenal and spent about a season and a half at a stable level. However, constant injuries made themselves felt again. The end of his career was quite likely, but the situation was changed by the offer to move to CSKA.
After accepting the invitation, Kostyuk first considered playing for CSKA as a temporary option to keep fit. However, he stayed in the Kyiv club for almost three and a half seasons, gradually combining the game with the work of an assistant head coach.
Appearances in national teams
In 1994, Kostyuk played for the youth national team of Ukraine U-18.
He was first called up to the youth team in 1996 for a match against the Georgian team, which took place on September 3 and ended with a 3-1 victory for the Ukrainians. In that game, Kostyuk spent the first half, after which he was replaced.
The next call to the national team had to wait almost 3 years. Confident performances in the Vorskla squad led to the inclusion of the footballer in the extended list before the play-offs with Slovenia for reaching Euro 2000, but he did not take the field then. The debut for the national team of Ukraine took place later – in the match against Bulgaria, which ended with a score of 1:0.
Coaching
During his performances at CSKA, Kostyuk began to combine his playing career with coaching. After completing active performances, he received a coaching diploma of category “B” and joined the staff of the Kyiv army, which was then headed by Andriy Kovtun.
After the disbandment of CSKA, he took a break from coaching, focused on business with his wife and playing for the Dynamo-2 veteran team.
Since 2012, he worked as a coach of the youth team “Dynamo” U-19, and later – the youth team U-21. Since the 2017/2018 season, he has led Dynamo U-19 and led the team to the Ukrainian championship four times at the end of the 2017/2018, 2018/2019, 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 seasons.
On November 27, 2025, after the resignation of the head coach of the first team of Dynamo, Kostyuk was appointed acting head coach of the club.
